KDE Disability Africa Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization (founded in 2015) to improve the lives of people with disabilities and dis-enfranchised youth in Africa and the US by providing basic needs (food, clothing), mobility devices (wheelchairs, crutches, canes), vocational training, and advocating for disability inclusion.

The objectives of KDE include but are not limited to:

  1. Providing food and clothing in Africa (Liberia, Nigeria) and the US
  2. Establishing a vocational training program that focuses on technical skills such as apparel sewing and accessories making (Liberia, Nigeria)
  3. Providing mobility devices (Wheelchairs, Crutches, Canes, motorized equipment / devices, etc.)
  4. Organizing Empowerment & Job Readiness workshops

Majority of the funding for the current program has come from the individual board members of KDE Disability Africa Foundation, however this model is not sustainable. We ask for your contributions and donations towards this program.

Donations can be sent via paypal.me/kdedisabilityafrica or mail check to. Non financial support can include wheelchairs, canes, crutches, sewing machines, canned goods, gently used clothing or new clothing, and supplies.

Kimma Wreh – President, Board of Directors & Chief Operating Officer(COO)

Kimma Wreh was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa and travelled to the US in 1988 after political unrest spurred her transition to the United States. Her passion for fashion and culture led her to establish TeKay Designs in 1998, KDE Disability Africa Foundation in 2015 and the Tuan Wreh Fashion Institute in 2017 (a division of KDE Disability Africa Foundation).

Wreh has over 19 years Finance and IT experience working for Fortune 50 companies in Corporate America. A humanitarian and fashion industry veteran, Wreh has extensive management experience in manufacturing, customer service, accounting, sales and marketing, etc.Wreh has a Bachelor’s Degree from Howard University in Washington D.C. and Master Of Business Administration (MBA) from LeTourneau University in Houston Texas.

Boniface Ihiasota –VP, Board of Directors & CEO

Mr. Ihiasota has a passion for uplifting people with disabilities via personal financial support and publishing the activities of disability groups as the Publisher of Excel Magazine International and CEO of Excel Global Media Group. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Estate Management from the prestigious Imo State University and post graduate diploma from International Institute of Journalism – Abuja, Imo State Chapter.

Ihiasota is a humble and honest person who through hard work and consistency has received numerous awards and professional certificates both locally and abroad. He brings his wealth of experience and many years of partnerships with reputable organizations in the public and private sector to ensure success of KDE Disability Africa Foundation.

Nnenna Joy Ugorji – Secretary, Board of Directors

Nnenna Joy Ugorji is a seasoned human resources professional with over 25 years work experience in human resources and management affairs, contract negotiation, customer service, and business / client relations. She is a talented project manager with excellent event planning skills and attention to details. Ugorji is an excellent mediator with demonstrated success in developing team building programs, creating employee handbooks, corporate policies, job descriptions and management reports.

Ugorji received Human Resources Management training from George Washington University and is a certified Professional Human Resources (PHR) from the Society of Human Resources Management in Virginia. She has a Masters of Arts, Administration / Supervision, and Bachelor of Science Education from University of the District of Columbia.

Daniel Nsomekela – Advisor to the Board

Daniel Nsomekela was born in Zambia in 1976 and started a National Christian Organization for Disabled – NACODI, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in late 1999 to coordinate, mobilize resources and support individuals with physical and mental constraints. He has provided wheelchairs and clutches to people with disabilities in Zambia.

He moved to the United States in 2005, where he continued to impact people with disabilities in Africa. He received Associate degree in Social Science from Richland, Texas in 2010 and B.A degree in Political Science from University of Texas at Dallas in 2015.

In 2011, Daniel Nsomekela formed Disability (Daniel) Integration Initiative (Institute) for Africa to focus on disability policy implementation in Africa and mandate of improvement of the life of the disabled in Africa.

Tanya Ivory Mayes – Advisor to the Board & Fashion Consultant

Tanya Ivory Mayes is the designer for The Ivory Collection label.
Tanya studied Fashion Design in the Art Department and Marketing at University of North Texas. Tanya is also an award winning designer. The Textiles and Costume Institute of The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston awarded her the Honorable Mention, Ready-To-Wear 1996 Fine Arts Fashion Award. The Ivory Collection has been featured in WWD, the Houston Chronicle and the Dudley’s hair book.

Tanya has been featured on Channel 8 and Fashion Where It’s at and other television programs. Tanya has also worked in wardrobe on films including “The King of The World” an ABC movie about Muhammad Ali and music videos. She has artistic talent, including the ability to sketch, paint sew, design and write. The Ivory Collection fashions have been on the runways of Chicago, North Carolina and New York in NYC Live! @ Fashion Week. The label has been in select small boutiques previously. Tanya has taught sewing for Leisure Learning in Houston.
